So, theoretically, by the Singularity, we should be able to achieve the following:
Extension of the neocortex to the Cloud. The physical body will be just one kind of experience that we will occasionally opt in for. The potential applications are endless. Brain computer interface + AGI tech will help accelerate this movement rapidly.
Once there's a pretty accurate version of us (or what we evolve to) in the cloud, what does time mean? Right now, time is meaningful as our time is limited. But once we start getting better at uploading versions of ourselves and merging in with the cloud, 'time' vanishes. So, is the process of mind uploading the process of us evolving to a species that conquered time?
